As a born and raise Haitian, I 1000% agree. A lot of of us don’t realize that we are benefiting from years of black American hard work and struggle

The disconnect is when you say BA lack success and economic growth. You all take our struggling class and paint that brush on everyone as a whole. BA has successful just like everyone else.

My Haitian father HAD that mindset for a long time. He could easily understand the systemic issues of Haiti and how it affects education and employment yet could not understand how the same systemic issues were parallel to black people in the US.

Are there ever times where self accountability is the actual issue?, or is it exclusively due to systemic systems that were put in place?

I respect what you're saying. However why wouldn't immigrants look at their own home land and say, "Why isn't my homeland like this?" And create opportunities for themselves. Instead they look at the people who made it possible for them here.

I would also add that many immigrants come to and live in poorer neighborhoods. They base their opinions on what they are in proximity to….

I remember I had to check my uncle about that years ago. I said to him why doesn't he have this energy or think the same way about white 😂americans who are poor, on welfare and are not educated? I said you judging black americans based on the environment you're in but you live in the hood. over the years his opinion has changed bc his children went to hbcus so he was able to see for himself the diversity of black Americans and their social economic backgrounds.

Instant follow, as a fellow Haitian thank you for talking about this! I’m so tired of the diaspora wars, and the disrespect that some of the people in our community give to Black Americans

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT Black Americans aren't successful and lack wealth. Neither are true especially when compared to the diaspora.

Thank you for saying this. I would like to add that in spite of the systemic issues, Jim Crow, segregation, government lead drug epidemic and being the smallest black minority group; Black Americans are the most successful Black people in the World with the largest middle class.
