@ctulocal1: For decades, CPS called classrooms with 36 students “right-sized.” Students were packed into rooms with more children than desks while neighborhood schools were closed and others endured chronic disinvestment. CTU music educator and PAC/LEG Co-chair Kat Zamarrón joined Tahman Bradley onThe Pointto challenge the idea that a decline in enrollment justifies cutting from students. What we really need to talk about are the decades of disinvestment that put our schools in this place to begin with. Students deserve smaller class sizes, individualized attention, and the resources they need to thrive. Governor Pritzker and Illinois lawmakers must call a special session to fully fund our schools now.
