@elevatemd: Replying to: @OB-GYN | Women’s Health If you’ve ever been told your heavy periods are “normal”… THIS VIDEO IS FOR YOU! Many of us have gone to our OB’s complaining about heavy, painful periods… but 99% of the time we are told this is perfectly normal, or we are just offered birth control without any further concern or explanation. 🫠 If you’ve ever soaked through a pad in under an hour, passed clots the size of quarters, or felt like your period was actively ruining your life… that is not something you should just push through. But this is something that we see in so many of our perimenopause patients! Heavy bleeding during perimenopause is incredibly common, and it’s usually tied back to a few key things… ☑️ Low progesterone (this is often the first hormone to decline) ☑️ Estrogen dominance relative to progesterone ☑️ Fibroids or polyps ☑️ Chronic anemia & low ferritin from ongoing blood loss Heavy or abnormal bleeding is never something to just “deal with”... it is something that needs to be investigated. And if it goes unaddressed long enough, it can absolutely tank your iron stores and literally suck the life out of you one period at a time! 😩 🩺 If you’re in the US and you’re curious about getting comprehensive labs to actually understand what’s going on with your cycle, go to the 🔗 in my bio to book a free 30-minute call with my team to get started! #perimenopause #hormonehealth #hormonalimbalance #womenover30 #womenover40

Women are not bleeding 2 to 3 tablespoons. We are gushing. We can’t sneeze without a half a cup coming out.

I hate women’s healthcare. Why am I learning more off TikTok’s? Why have i repeatedly been told it’s completely normal?

I have been bleeding since March 25, and just had a hysteroscopy 2 weeks ago, to remove a polyp that was said to be the cause. Yesterday, I was passing so many clots, I was weak and dizzy. Found out that the polyp was not a polyp, and they have no idea why I am constantly bleeding. I've been taking a drosperinone birth control to stop the bleeding, but it has not stopped it. Next up, partial hysterectomy 😩.

This should be in a medical book somewhere! I think that is the only way some docs would believe it

What should I do if I’m having cramps 2-3 days of my period. The worst of the 3 days I’m on 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours, using ice packs, etc. but I never feel fully free of pain. A few months ago it was actually so bad that I nearly passed out in the shower and I actually lost vision for 2 minutes. Threw up after too. My doctor didn’t bat an eye when I told her

i had heavy periods all my life and NOBODY told me it wasn't normal. I have been let down by the medical system SO MANY TIMES that it is a wonder that I'm still alive. Definitely struggling, but still alive. The anger over how much I have suffered at the hands of medical gaslighting is so huge right now that it's almost overwhelming me every day. I feel so let down by the very people I went to for help.
