He literally says in canon that he doesn’t kill needlessly. And in the first real mission with Sadie he stops her from threatening/shooting the shop keeper saying “we’re outlaws, not idiots.” “These people are just trying to get by” so no, if you left him be he would not kill you for a few dollars.
