Especially because a when a rapist gets love from his victim despite what he's done to her LITERALLY HAS NO INCENTIVE TO CHANGE when he's already gotten away with horrific things. The book acts like a woman's love will fix her rapist or abuser and that never, ever, ever happens.

THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING. GROOMING CAN GO ONE OF 2 WAYS. Either it works and you end up liking the abuse or it doesn’t and you don’t like the abuse. These are all women who the grooming would have worked on or it DID work on. These type of people to get abused and then grow up thinking ts is cute and normal and they abuse others.

when they start to romanticize fictional men that portray the horrific actions done in real life, I fear that we’ve truly lost the plot like I don’t see how the dark romance genre went from morally grey men doing questionable things FOR his FMC to the men doing absolutely disgusting and vile things TO the FMC like I’m don’t understand where they see the similarities, it’s ridiculous

They defend him because he's handsome. If he were fat, ugly, and old, they'd be disgusted. In this political climate, where women are losing their rights, who would be happy that a woman ends up with her rapist, especially after he sexually assaulted her by forcing a gun inside her? I wonder who would want that.
