@velunainstitute: Let's get this straight. Some techs scare me too, but they just do the prep badly. This is not what a Russian Manicure done by a trained professional is. The technique's actual name is a combined dry manicure and means that we remove the cuticles using e-file and scissors or nippers. There is no exact one way of doing it. Every educator has their own preference of drill bits and movements. Yes, there are some general rules that we all follow but as a whole it is not a dangerous technique. We do not cut the living tissue. In fact cuticle scissors and nippers are included in every little at-home nail cutting kit. They have been in every drug/beauty store since I can remember myself. It has never been a mistake to cut the dead skin so why are people suddenly afraid of it? For some people it is even necessary as their cuticles get so dry that they start bleeding or cause hangnails and can lead to infections if you just pull it rather than cut. So don't be afraid of it. It is safer to go to someone who likes it and has learned how to do it than to someone who claims they are against it but is in fact using e-file and scissors.. just poorly. #russianmani #russianmanicure
