I’m gonna sound so dumb but I’ve never seen cherries that red that weren’t in a jar. Here our cherries are so dark they are almost purple :) or they are like yellow with red

My grandmother used to make this using maraschino cherries and bourbon. If I did it that way, I assume I would not need to add any sugar?

I made this last summer and gave it to all my fam for Christmas (all drinkers). No one was excited, no one tried it at Christmas and no one has said anything about it since then. Kind of disappointed 😔
