I've paid mine off too. I cut out luxuries such as coffee, avocados, Netflix and someone died leaving me 250k. It's easy when you try.

Genuine question, what was your reason and advantage for paying it off that soon?

Now get it out of your name and into a trust so no one can make a claim on it in the future should you get in some kind of trouble.

In Canada, since houses start at $1,000,000 and go up from there, paying off a mortgage early is just not possible for 99.99% of the population

Here to remind you all: Comparison is the thief of joy. If you aren't paying off your mortgage till youre 60 that's fine. Ultra wealthy and psychologists note often, as well as those of us who work with those who have wealth, that the majority who APPEAR to have wealth either don't or aren't half as happy as they seem. This may not be true for her but again I say, you're doing great. Shoot to be happy and live a full life and you'll have been far wealthier than 95% of people who were far richer than you financially, and you'll die with much less regret 🥰.

I may be wrong here but a mortgage is the cheapest dept you will have, say you have ISA making 6% a year is better to have you money in there as long as % on mortgage is lower 🤷🏻‍♂️
