This week gave me so much more than a classroom. 🍏✏️🩷💐✨ Today was the most productive day I’ve had since I started setting up my room. And yes… checking things off my to-do list brought my anxious heart a little peace. But when I look back on this day, I don’t think that’s what I’ll remember most. I’ll remember the people. I’ll remember coworkers who didn’t just show up to help decorate a classroom—they showed up because they cared about me. One of them will trust me with her son this year. Another will trust me with her niece. Long before the first day of school, they chose to invest in me not only as their children’s future teacher, but as a person. That’s something I’ll never take lightly. I’ll remember hearing Dom laugh all day and seeing a different look on her face than I’ve seen in previous seasons. She wasn’t carrying the weight of worrying about me. She kept saying, “This is going to be such a good environment for you.” And for the first time in a long time… I believed it too. I started this journey praying for a classroom. God answered with a community. I started this journey worried about what I didn’t have. God reminded me of everything I do. I started this journey trying to recreate a picture I had in my mind. God gave me something even more beautiful. This room still isn’t perfect. I’m still reusing things. There are still projects left to finish. But I left today with something I haven’t felt in a long time… I could finally breathe. That’s the kind of answered prayer money can’t buy. Beauty for ashes. Peace for pressure. And proof that sometimes God doesn’t just change your circumstances… He surrounds you with the right people while He changes you too.
