I own a small meal prep company and I have large dry erase boards I have a “prep” column and a “cook” column. Every time I bang out an item, I just mark it off. There’s a psychological aspect of making progress when you’re able to mark something off.

Mum of 8, now they're older, married & parents themselves, means LARGE gatherings even when it's only immediate family. I've been doing specific prep lists for years. My husband thought I was OTT until he decided to spontaneously invite 15 people for a BBQ while I was away. 🤣 came home and he was exhausted & asking how I "effortlessly" manage. 🤣🤣🤣

Whenever we have people over for dinner, we’ve already got a preplanned set of things that they can help with it they want too. Don’t get me wrong, we assume that we’ll be doing everything but if someone asks if they can help (and it’s not the “I’m asking and hoping that you’ll say no” kinda ask) we’re ready for them.
