Why do we have the ability to analyze and think critically if God doesn’t want us to know more? Sometimes I ask questions, and a religious man once told me, “You shouldn’t think that deeply, or you’ll end up going the wrong way.” But I’m not asking because I have bad intentions—I just want a logical answer as well. If God created us with the ability to think, question, and reason, then why would it be haram to use it? Why give us that ability if we’re not supposed to go this far ?

Tbh yes I used to be very religious and the way I think about it now is that it’s a coping mechanism for people who are lost in life/lonely and feel the need of community as well as people that live in very hard circumstances/ people that went through trauma ( especially in poorer/3rd world countries) because it gives them a promise that they will be living better eternally after death which makes them feel better about life and then they might be able to see it as more just. Yet, what I’ve come to realize going through that experience myself is that this mindset puts you in waiting mode. You live your whole life waiting for death and u never really live here which defeats the whole point of being given the ability to experience life. I still believe in God but I had to let a lot of my beliefs about him and religion go

no you don’t, religion is derived from logic and logical arguments. for example, nothing can change itself, therefore humanity must’ve had a causer (God), known as an unmoved mover. Second, in our natural everyday world we observe cause and effect chains right, so why can’t we say that God was our cause? Third, unintelligent objects cannot guide themselves towards an intended goal without guidance, we see this when we try to teach animals as such, where do you think the morality we know today, laws and such came from?
