Bro, I had a retainer and like you don’t wanna go swimming with them or do you like sports with them like you don’t want them to break and the one time I was swimming and like I was at a pool party and my friend’s birthday party and like I was, I didn’t have it in for eight hours cause we were jumping in a trampoline zip line and going to the pool like we never had a break so when I put it back in, it literally would not go in and it hurts so bad

Ok I’ve never had a retainer but I braces do hurt until you get used to it the you have to get them tightened but for like the first week you have like the wire sticking in to your lip which hurts pretty bad
