I don't know the circumstances of the owner passing, but a dog or a cat is really a child with four legs that never leaves home. Somewhere along the pup's journey, ideally fairly early, it's very important to talk to someone close to you about taking in and caring for your pup or cat if something happens to you. I think people sometimes think they are going to live forever. Stuff happens all the time and all day long. Make the effort to find someone who's open to taking and raising/caring for your pet if something happens to you so they don't wind up sad, confused and frightened to death in a shelter. The people in the shelter I'm sure will do their best, but your furbaby won't understand whe he/she has lost eveything that means something to them. Losing their pet parent will be hard enough. They need a stable loving home if something happens to you.😪😪😪
