My 2010 6 speed auto, 2.2 turbo diesel Freelander 2 doesn't have a dpf, and i kind of get what you are saying BUT at 70 mph in 6th my car is doing 2500rpm. if this was going to cause an issue how/why would Land Rover have made the car like this plus the same engine gearbox are in some jaguars and even my wifes 2013 Evoque which does have a dpf and the 2500rpm at 70mph never had an issue in 4 years.
