Yes! This happened to me at Walmart with my baby in 2021. A woman asked me if I wanted to know about their church group. I said no and kept walking. She kept turning up in every aisle. I slowed down and heard her say “green shirt” on her phone call, I was wearing a green shirt. I lost my mind screaming at her and calling her out after she followed me to the register. Had to have a cop escort me to my car because her and her people took off immediately.

My mom talks about this happening to her when I was little. Two women were trying to be overly friendly/helpful in a target. She said she turned around for like a second and they tried to push the cart (with me in it) away from her and walk off. She caused a scene and they ran out. Unfortunately no one is ‘safe’

It’s a common tactic, good instincts. Traffickers often use women, often victims themselves (not excusing their participation, sometimes they aren’t victims too), because a lot of people drop their guard around women. Considering your observations, her behavior, and her persistence, very high probability they were working together. Let’s say they weren’t, let’s say she was just being nice and a good person, who cares, your child’s safety comes before anyone’s feelings.
