This happened to mine recently too and I sent it to canon and surprisingly they fixed it at no charge!! I didn’t even have proof of purchase or warranty

Years ago, first flat screen tv I bought was a 45” LG that wasn’t even full hd (bedroom tv so I don’t care). Still cost me $900 bc I guess the technology was new. Two years in the screen stopped coming on. Turns out their capacitors are junk. I’m no electrician but I got some capacitors, a soldering iron, took it apart, and replaced them. Worked without issue for another nine years and even then it was only because we had a lightning strike and a LOT of electronics got fried. Point is, you might be able to have this repaired inexpensively if you find the right person.

This happened to me last week while I was traveling. I took it to a repair shop, and they fixed it for 100€. It turned out to be a faulty shutter cable and a circuit related to the shutter mechanism🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
