@pennys_opossie: NEVER CALL PEST CONTROL ~ Contact a wildlife rehabber!!! The majority of the time wildlife is considered a “nuisance”, and once a pest control company is involved, they are usually euthanized, most often inhumanly. I did set a trap next to his in hopes of capturing momma but no luck. But after pest control picked him up in the finders trap, the focus became obtaining this baby so I could take him into care and release him back into the wild. Thankfully I was able to speak to the owners and have forged a positive relationship. In the future they will contact me once wildlife is trapped so that I can arrange a safe relocation. But this can be avoided if the first calls are made to wildlife rehabbers! We want to save these animals. We want to see them thrive in a safe environment. Just please call as many as it takes until you find help! Every state has a wildlife rehabber contact list. Animal Help Now is an app with rehabbers listed. And social media can also produce contact information for local rehabbers. ***just please give us time to return your text or phone call!
