I'm not saying this person doesn't have this many books in their home or that they don't annotate them, nor am I claiming they are faking their interest. However, I think people like them, who post similar content, aren't doing it for their own gratification or posting this as a way to document their own passion, but as a way to market themselves as intellectual. I understand the need for recognition, most people like attention, but to an extent, it's about signaling intelligence, not sharing your learning process and how you acquired knowledge. I do not want to make assumptions or generalizations, but maybe he could have shown us some of his annotations and not conveniently had illegible handwriting. You want to promote intellectualism? Give book recommendations and share your perspective on them in a way that makes people want to read them. If you have any other interests, particularly in writing, why don't you show some drafts, maybe read some essays you've written, and inspire other writers so they can get that push of confidence they needed. This is more of an overall critique, so don't take this personally, but this type of content prioritizes the appearance of intellectualism over intellectual engagement. Give the people their bread is what I'm trying to say
