I agree, you should be able to use your beauty loop in both countries! I have a friend that moved to Australia and wasn't allowed to transfer her level 4 NZ beauty loop over, which we thought was wrong! She had to make a new one over there but still kept her one in NZ as well for when she comes back to visit! 😐

I can provide some context 🙋🏻♀️The reason is predominantly the cost of running a trans-Tasman loyalty system. Sephora, being a much larger global company, has the scale and appetite to invest in an integrated platform, whereas Mecca may not yet see sufficient commercial benefit to justify that level of investment. You're right that Mecca already aligns pricing across Australia and New Zealand, but a shared loyalty program is far more complex than matching retail prices. The underlying systems would need to fairly manage multiple currencies, taxation (including GST differences), customer data privacy requirements in both countries, and redemption rules. On top of that, there are likely contractual obligations with individual brands that may differ between the two markets. Is it possible? Absolutely. But the real question is whether the additional cost of implementing, operating, and maintaining that infrastructure delivers enough value to make the investment worthwhile for Mecca. I discovered that last year going from NZ to Australia but apparently they’re actually different entities $$ wise and they can’t do the conversion.
