Tbh guys I’ve been taking school seriously in my 20s but I’m still doing badly at it cause my mom forced me to study accounting which I’m really bad at (didn’t even do it in hs, I did IT and science as I was prepping for a life of coding but back then, my mom thought it’s just an unserious job as she didn’t understand the world or AI etc). Even tho I’m bad at it, I’m going to keep going bc I’m determined to finish. I mean, at least I finally got a C in tax, something I’d never thought I’d understand. But yeah if u managed to read through all my shpeel, the more terrible you are at something, the more rewarding it will feel when u finally figure it out and yea, take your life seriously like she’s saying. Okie bye

I came to a similar realisation at 8 years old and so I never compromised my academics, avoided sex (in order to avoid teenage pregnancy and unplanned pregnancy in general). I knew that I did not have room to make mistakes because I too do not have a safe landing on every sense of the word. Kudos to you.

I’m in my mid 20s and I’m learning to decenter material things so I don’t put myself in debt trying to live a lifestyle people live in their 40s but also trying to invest in things that make my life more convenient. Money to me is about improving my quality of life more than my quantity of life.

I don't think anyone has a room for big mistakes (big mistakes costs). Just that those who seem to have figured out don't share how much they cannot fumble any opportunity (academics, careers, time, finances etc)
