Ive always been for Leni Robredo she is a good person with a clean track record. Truly, I have nothing bad to say about her, yet there is one question I keep asking myself what if? Because she is so kind, might the oligarchs just take advantage of her goodness? Being this gentle, would she be able to lead firmly enough or would abusive politicians just walk all over her leadership? Honestly, what would happen if she won? Does that mean Trillanes would gain great power? That De Lima would be 'queen' again? That Hontiveros would run the show? What have these people really done? Aren’t they labeled communists, disgraced soldiers, or mistresses paid by drug lords? How could Leni lead effectively if these are the people backing her? On the other hand, when it comes to the Dutertes, all I hear is violence and killings. Yet I also tell myself that maybe they act this way because they truly care about ordinary Filipinos whom society has long ignoredand perhaps those reports of killings are just hearsay, since nothing has ever been proven. So now, as a Filipino, I would rather choose someone who knows how to speak sharply, stand their ground, and even has the will to fight someone capable of protecting me from my own abusive fellow Filipinos.

I was in Davao that same year, and my ex-boyfriend’s family was one of the families affected by the flash flood in Matina Aplaya. I saw the devastation with my own eyes. Seeing bodies in the streets was heartbreaking and traumatic. It’s easy for people to judge from the outside, but when you’ve witnessed something like that firsthand, you understand how difficult those decisions are. If I had been the mayor back then, I probably would have done the same if not even more to deal with the situation.
