Never, She Sang: #VicarOfDibley Theme Song
Never, She Sang: #VicarOfDibley Theme Song "The Lord is My Shepherd" Psalm 23 by #HowardGoodall originally performed by the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. George Humphreys soloist. Epic TV Theme Songs Season 2 What if...? #AngelaLansbury Sang That? #Broadway #WestEnd The Vicar of Dibley (1994 - 2000) Created by Richard Curtis for Dawn French to lead. I love this show... but... I am not from the UK, nor was I born into the Episcopal tradition. I'm an American mutt with diverse heritage and raised Catholic (by way of music). One of the famous catholic composers, Alexander Peloquin was a lifelong family friend. He even dedicated his Easter Mass to me and my mom while she was pregnant with me. Some of my heritage is French Canadian and Connacht Irish heritage. Which is like saying: give me a Catholic seasoned with catholic with a side of catholic boiled in catholic. I'm kidding. Thankfully, my parents were both theologians who loved history, music the arts and studied other religions of varying denominations. The thing that provided balance to this was the fact the heritage included Mayflower English, Scottish, Acadian, MicMaq First Nations, Czech, German... so thankfully the only inbreeding was of a spiritual variety. My parents were open minded and dynamic. This often meant visitors would love to show up at the house, invite themselves in for coffee and a lively discussion about religion. Rabbis, a Greek Othodox Priest, Mormons, you know, the usual characters one finds sitting at their kitchen table when they open the door after a long day at public school. I digress. I have sung in over 48 churches and cathedrals in my lifetime as a professional soloist or soprano section leader. I eventually did learn and live in the Episcopal tradition during my last professional full-time church singer position at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church in Forest Hills, NYC. I was the soprano soloist and section leader there for almost 8 years. My husband and I were married there, and our one and only child was christened there. So, this is the very first time I'm singing anything as Angie with religious origins. Wow, long post.
