@carrotlaneofficial: I want to rephrase my last sentence about XRP not being a sure bet. It’s a bona fide blue-chip asset with one of the strongest and largest communities of holders outside of Bitcoin. Those eyeballs, the sunk cost fallacy of many holders being underwater and expecting it to go higher, combined with the low nominal price, all help drive demand. The utility of the asset does not magically translate into price. There is no magic switch where the price suddenly climbs to astronomical levels overnight. XRP churches and literal pastors using religion as a vessel for why XRP will go to $100,000 a coin is wild to me. What people largely miss is that demand for the token will ultimately come down to the execution of the team and the commercial success they can create through institutional adoption. It’s a bit like making a VC bet without getting any of the shareholder upside. That being said, I still think XRP does very well as an asset. Somewhere around $10 to $12 feels reasonable to me, although you still have the token unlocks to contend with during a bull run. When financial conditions tighten, the drawdowns become much more aggressive, which is one reason Bitcoin has outperformed over the long term. The real question at the end of all of this is whether you’re comfortable with the opportunity cost if other assets outperform.
