لَيْسَ حَاطِبَ لَيْلٍ :
Dear brother, ittaquallah (fear Allah). Let us strive to keep our good deeds private, purely for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala). It is always wise to check our intentions before posting anything online. Guard yourself against riyaa’ (showing off) and tasmee’ (seeking reputation). If a deed carries even a trace of that which is more hidden than a black ant on a black stone in the darkest of nights, then it is far better for your scales to take the post down and keep this deed strictly between you and your Creator. Allah (SWT is Al-Baatin and Al-Raqeeb. It is simply advice or a reminder regarding something the Prophet (SAW) warned his Companions (RA) about. Surely, we need to be even more careful in this artificial world, don't we? A characteristic of the Companions (RA) was that they guarded their good deeds; in other words, they kept them hidden—‘ibadat al-khafiyyah (acts of worship performed in secret). You can either ignore it or put it into practice; that’s it. =========================== Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (No. 1905), Sunan at-Tirmidhī (No. 2382), and Sunan an-Nasā'ī (No. 3137). Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said that on the Day of Judgment, a martyr, a scholar/Quran reciter, and a generous person will be brought forward. Allah will ask them what they have done. They will say that they did it for the sake of Allah, whereupon Allah will say: "You have lied. You did it so that people would say you were courageous, learned, or generous." Then they will be dragged on their faces and thrown into the Hellfire.
