@sir.edmund.hale: Rich families rarely applaud their children, my friend — and most people will never understand why. In our world, you do not celebrate what a child is supposed to do. Good grades are expected. Honesty is expected. There is no trophy for meeting the minimum. Applaud every small thing, and a child grows up needing permission to feel good about himself — and he crumbles the first time the world goes silent. Raise him on standards, and he performs whether anyone is watching or not. But here is the part the loud version of this lesson forgets. The standard is high, and the applause is rare — but the love is constant. A child must never doubt he is valued. Only that the bar will not be lowered for him. The full story — including the night my son brought home perfect grades, and I said nothing — is in the video. Comment "EXPECTED" — I shall send you the free guide personally. With my regards, Sir Edmund Hale — #oldmoney #raisingchildren #siredmundhale #quietwealth #standards
I would politely like to disagree with you. I think this method of parenting stresses the kids out.

Prize vs Motivation. How do we differentiate? For me, it is about defining the experience so that the child understands and does not become dependent on external motivation. One could argue that your views could cause as much harm. In that neglecting the child's emotional need may lead to low self-confidence. Just my thoughts.
