@jessicadimeo: People see the good parts of our life because, honestly, that’s what we usually choose to share. The trips, Joe buying his Corvette, the little moments that make us happy. What you don’t always see are the days where we don’t do much of anything because he’s in too much pain, or the days we cancel plans and just hope tomorrow is a little better. This past year has actually been one of the better years since Joe’s transplant, and we’re thankful for that. But transplant life doesn’t come with guarantees. Things can change fast, and we’ve learned that firsthand more times than we’d like. That’s why we don’t wait for the perfect time to enjoy life. If Joe is having a good day, we take advantage of it. If he’s having a bad day, we stay home together. Either way, we’re together, and that’s enough. When we got married and said, “In sickness and in health,” I meant it. It wasn’t just something to say during our vows, it’s our reality. Some days are really good, some days are really hard, and most days fall somewhere in between. No matter what kind of day it is, I’m still choosing him, and I’d do it all over again. @joedimeo
