Can also just round the top of the rod with the grinder after cutting or use a bandsaw you’ll never have to bother with it again

Put the nut on first, cut it,then take it off it will clean the threads and will go back on handy

you can buy a bit for an impact that'll round or debur the end of the threaded rod. handy little thing to have .
