This is true though if u collect ur plate number in Lagos,nd in the process of using it in Lagos nd they disobeyed traffic rule.which is 20k nd the car was later taken to another state,in other state u won’t pay that 20k but they will renew for u but any time u bring the car back to Lagos even if it is 2 years the car use outside Lagos anytime u wanna renew ur paper ur 20k of 2 years ago will still b waiting for u. I av Similar case on my car at the moment now.I’m considering collecting another number bcos I can’t pay for debt I don’t know abt it.bcos I’m not the one using the car b4

autoreg is a platform used for vehicle registrations in Nigeria, if the renewal runs through autoreg, it's reflected everywhere I do my registration in my state of residence and I drive to Lagos from time to time with it. I've never been told it's not in their records

i experienced this while working in enugu.... i always renew from the inland revenue servic but to my surprise while on vacation in lagos, i wanted to renew the documents but my vehicle was showing outstanding and even camera captured my vehicle for driving with expired documents when i actually have two weeks also to go... i have to pay the two years outstanding for the vehicle particular and ₦60k for camera before i could collect my vio certificate

That's why I discourage people from getting lagos plate number, even those who live in lagos. Get another states plate number, always renew it outside lagos
