Fish and Chips is competitively priced for the most part and certainly better than McDonald’s and its ilk.

I still remember going into my local chippy as a kid. it was 45p for chips, 45p for a battered sausage and 25p for a can of coke. as a teenager in the 90s we had a kebab shop that did doner meat, chips and a can of drink for £1.50 at school lunchtime

this definitely need be cheap because it's working class food not Luxury Restorans. It's imitation price because fish in Ocen not staying more expensive when before. this is happening with business how overpriced everything. and Business have different ratings in Gas Prices when normal Citizens 🤣people how don't understand how Business work trust this things and what about british ocean territory when you talking so lot's in Brexit 🤣Maybe this is Big scam in United Kingdom History 👌🤣

people love talking about the price of fish and chips in the 80's,'fish and chips for £1' etc. What they forget is that the government introduced VAT in 1984,so from then and still now the prices include 20% vat,for example if your fish and chips costs £12 it's only actually £9.60. Then in 1984 the average weekly wage was £160 now it is £750.The average 3 bedroom house was £31,000 now it's around £300,000.In reality Fish and chips is not expensive it's all relative, people just choose to moan about fish and chips prices,no one questions why we can't still buy a 3 bed house £31,000😂

Yes but look at your wages in 1999, I think most of us in Liverpool didn't even get £800 a month.
