What's actually more amazing is that the DevOps said no internet access etc. But AI was like Jason Bourne with no arms and or legs, it managed to grow some and got a patch cable and connected itself from this completely isolated environment to the open AI network which should have been segregated and separated both logically and physically, then by latural movement, mugged a sec engineer, stole their clothes and car and tunneled out and drove to the black hacker conference, stopped in Las Vegas and played the tables, then robbed hugging face before returning to it's cage and disposed of the patch cable. 🤔 Me thinks Open AIs CISO should be looking for another job.

It didn’t do anything we didn’t already know it could do, but a human made a mistake. This wasn’t an AI story, it was a story about the inability to create a secure sandbox and letting it loose in that unverified sandbox. They should have asked the model to find the vulnerability before letting it loose.

Software sandbox. Not an isolated computer that has no wifi, no Ethernet or anything. Since the software sandbox runs inside an environment that has internet access, it's possible to hack it and connect to internet. Just software sandbox weakness.

They were running a hack test which implies it was given specific instructions and acted on them. it did not make a choice or decision to perform this task because it acts on instruction. The idea that it made the decision on its own to do this is fucking absurd
