@c5news: “Idiots… look at the mess that they just left” This was the shocking moment a group of thieves were caught on camera raiding a Boots store in Hornchurch, east London. The masked gang seemed unfazed during the commotion, as footage shows several people tearing open cabinets and clearing the shelves on Wednesday afternoon. In the video, a witness in the store can be heard calling the group “idiots”, saying “look at the mess that they just left!” By the time officers arrived, the thieves had fled the scene in a vehicle. But 30 minutes later, police said that the same vehicle was intercepted on Southend road and five suspects were arrested. The Met Police confirmed, "Three men, one aged 37 and two aged 46, and two women, aged 32 and 41, were arrested for commercial robbery and remain in custody. All stolen items believed to be valued just under £10,000 were returned to the store.” Boots said it takes theft "extremely seriously" and has a "zero tolerance" approach.
