I’m gonna be honest two things can be true. Janet can have trauma, but you are not allowed to use your trauma and dump that on anybody else’s situation and use it as an excuse for your behavior. The part of being a survivor is actually doing the work to better yourself despite your trauma.

Anyone saying they do not “believe” Janet’s story - this is why women do not come out. She already said she didn’t even tell Jason, HER HUSBAND, until recently. It doesn’t explain her behavior, but to have empathy for someone in a triggering situation like this, isn’t and shouldn’t be hard.

The number of people saying 1. That her trauma doesn’t excuse bad behavior or 2. They choose not to believe her… is astonishing to me. We are watching a show but if it was you or one of your loved ones I bet the reactions would be different. That being said I don’t see this as anyone excusing what watchers are perceiving as bad behavior, I’m hearing it as not an excuse but an explanation and a way to find a starting point to mend hurts or friendships
