You can eat completely clean, hit your protein, and train hard but STILL struggle to build muscle. Here’s what people overlook: 1️⃣ YOU’RE NOT EATING ENOUGH Chicken, vegetables, fruit, and other nutritious foods are great. But if you’re constantly under-fueling your training, your body may struggle to recover and build muscle. Healthy doesn’t automatically mean enough. 2️⃣ YOU’RE PRIORITIZING PROTEIN BUT IGNORING CARBS Protein provides the building blocks for muscle growth. Carbs help replenish muscle glycogen and fuel demanding training sessions. Rice, potatoes, oats, fruit, and bread can all support your performance. 3️⃣ YOU’RE AVOIDING DIETARY FAT You need sufficient dietary fat for essential fatty acids, fat-soluble vitamin absorption, and normal physiological function. Include foods like eggs, olive oil, avocado, nuts, and fatty fish. 4️⃣ YOUR ACTIVITY IS OUTPACING YOUR FOOD Lifting hard, doing cardio, and walking all day increases your energy needs. If you’re consistently exhausted, recovering poorly, and getting weaker, inadequate fueling could be contributing. 5️⃣ YOU’RE UNDER-EATING ON REST DAYS Your muscles don’t stop recovering just because you aren’t training. Drastically cutting calories or skipping protein on rest days can leave you under-fueled and make recovery harder. Keep your protein consistent and eat enough to support recovery, even when you’re not lifting. 6️⃣ YOU’RE IGNORING YOUR RECOVERY If your lifts have been stalled for months, don’t automatically add more sets or cardio. Look at your food intake, sleep, training volume, and recovery. Sometimes the solution isn’t training harder. It’s giving your body enough resources to adapt. The goal isn’t to eat as little as possible while lifting as much as possible. Fuel your training. Eat enough. Recover properly. Progress over time. Save this if you train hard but feel like you’re making zero progress. My BUILT LEAN guide is linked in my bio for the full step-by-step approach to building muscle while staying lean🤝 #foryou #becklifts
