I tell my husband all the time I can tell you pre motherhood my favorite restaurant but post motherhood well I don’t know and it doesn’t exist anymore maybe one day I’ll learn. And maybe one day he will fully understand what I mean when I say it!

I’ve felt this for years. I realized I have nooooo idea who I am outside of “mom”. I don’t know what I would want to do for fun if I didn’t worry about finding something that everyone else would think is fun also. Or where I would go eat if I could pick. Or what hobbies I’m into. I’ve been a mom for much much longer than I wasn’t a mom.

My favorite place to eat is a cruise ship lol… lots of options for everyone and I don’t have to figure it out lol…. If that’s not an option I have no clue lol… I usually just say Mexican or something.

Just had a bday. my 24 yo daughter asked me where would I like to eat dinner. I had a couple suggestions and she looked at me and said "is that what You want or what you think we want?" idk, there was something to having her call me out on it. it felt like I was seen or understood and that made me feel not lost at all. I chose to get takeout from 2 different places so we all got what we wanted to eat, but I got the best bday bc we were all together.
