I do hope you are able to tease that out...because that is absolutely valid... I myself found myself questioning this in my 30s. As a feminist in every sense I was at one time, refusing to wear certain clothing articles for that very reason. The conclusion I came to is that as long as I loved what I was wearing, then it had nothing to do with the patriarchy. It allowed me to choose my clothing mindfully. I ensured I loved each piece, that it fit my personality and comfort style, and that it was never something that was influenced by anyone of anything. Now, in my 50s, choosing clothing comes very naturally because I have been intentionally choosing for so long. So, just make sure you love what you are wearing...that does not allow for anyone to have a say!💗

I’m not saying it’s the same thing at all. I’m not down thing you’re feeling, but what I do want to say to you is, just do it dress the way you want , and do what you want at all times ! At every stage of life people judge you anyway! I’m 60 years old and believe me if I’m dressed too young or dressed too revealing, people judge. If I’m out dancing on the street people are judging. If I swear like a trucker people are judging . Don’t get caught up in that. Don’t ever dummy yourself down or make yourself smaller to fit in at any time of your life.❤️

I'm actually quite thankful to be alive in a time when trans/queer folks are more visible. I grew up in/around the queer community when visibility and acceptance wasn't quite what it is today so I was lucky there, too. It's taught me so much about gender and sexual fluidity and encouraged questioning things like this about myself as a cis het woman.
