one of the analogies I quite like, is from silver birch. he was asked what are the punishments for sin, his response was it totally depends on your understanding of what sin is. the point being we manifest our own god and I ran understanding of what is right and wrong and we hold ourselves accountable to that. the notion that some parents gave up their child for me to do roll and not have to worry is ludicrous

Firstly, would you want a supreme God to exist that is not just at all and does not carry out or condone any form of justice, be it in this life or the next? Secondly, Jesus wasn't some random human God chose to carry the weight of the sins of humanity on the cross. God chose and sent HIMSELF to do so. If He chose some random dude on the street to do this I would have the same gripes as you do, but He did not. Also, His death and resurrection not only granted us eternal forgiveness of our sins but also defeated sin and death once and for all!

Let it be unto me according to thy word are words of obedience. Eli also was obedient when he heard about the fate of his children. Saying yes to god is never meant to be easy. Christian life and submission isn’t meant to be easy. The Lord however will be our strength throughout.
