@abc7ny: A couple had a frighteningly close encounter with a bear while walking a trail with their dog just outside of Banff, Alberta, on Sunday, July 19. Washington resident Brook Koski told Storyful that her husband, Kraig, initially encountered the bear on his own while jogging ahead of Brook on the trail. This footage, filmed by Brook, shows the bear slowly following Kraig as he walked away backwards, facing the bear, along with their dog Lola. “Kraig, you’re too close!” Brook yells in the video. “What are we going to do? We have to get off the trail.” The couple were eventually able to scare the bear back into the woods, but Brook told Storyful the encounter left her feeling “terrified.”
