@techbyrena: Everyone thinks IT is about memorizing commands and knowing every answer. The reality? Even experienced technicians Google things, forget PowerShell syntax, and rely on documentation every single day. The biggest difference between beginners and professionals isn't intelligence-it's repetition. The more tickets you solve, the more patterns you recognize, and the more confident you become. That's exactly why I built ServiceDesk Simulator. To give aspiring IT professionals a place to practice real-world help desk scenarios before they're on the job. #ITSupport #HelpDesk #TechCareer #InformationTechnology #CompTIA
you forgot 2 big ones
1: its always DNS
2: 99.9% Of the time, its the users fault. and they will 100% of the time, lie. 😂

Youve been told you have to learn a lot everyday for the entire span of your career. But its not LEARNING that you have to do but RELEARNING the stuff you already did before just bc you cant hold that much info in your brain

You use Google for the commands you forget. Go back and forth between Linux, command prompt, and powershell. You won’t care to remember things and just save basic commands or google them when you need them.

How about that most people think your job is easy “just turn it off and on” 🙄 but also want you to show them how to use there phone because they have no clue how to use there own personal device 🙄

When i was new on this IT job, I'm scared to use Google because i think they will judge me and 1 day I needed help to a senior IT in a different office, and I saw them that they also use Google to help them to fix things. Now Google is my beat friend

In reality, how helpful is this going to be? It probably won’t hold much, if not any value on a resume. Every organization has their own internal knowledge articles/documentation as well, so I guess you could only really be practicing to get familiar with technical words (Because even common issues may have different expected initial steps depending what company it is).
