Carlo. :
The most horrible war in europe after ww2. I miss Yugoslavia. not because i was born in time to see it, not because of socialism, not because of some sort of personal relationship with Yugoslavia and its people, but because it was relevant. A powerfull balkan country, with a powerfull industry, immense history, beautyfull culture made by a melting pot of different people, cultures, religions.
An entire nation died in 1991. Families killed each other. A genocide wiped out an entire population. The whole balkan economy went down with them, and leaved immense pain and destruction we can feel even after more than 30 years. It was a relevant nation. a nation who stood up both to NATO and the Soviet union, aspiring to lead the third world to independence, even though Yugoslavia was a first world country, respected by its neighbours and loved by many.
I'm not taking part of any side. i just want to ask you, people of the ex Yugoslavia, if you think it was really worth it. i hope some day you will join back togheter, even though i know that the trauma caused by that horrible war is not something we can overcome easily.
