our kids' stuff is controlled by an app on my phone. if they don't give it up, I just turn it off on my phone. Im not fighting, chasing, grabbing anything. i just shut it down with an app on my phone and that's the end. however long they throw a fit, I times that by 3 and that gets subtracted from their screen time tomorrow. I am open to respectful conversation about them finishing something, but outright fits are not ok.

take it. keep for a day or two longer if they didnt hand it over on own accord. my son hands me everything I ask him for. his tablet. his phone. his toys. he knows if I need access to this, it is easier to hand it over right now. he can ask to finish up with something, if its reasonable, I let him. but he also know if I ask to hand something over, it is always with reason. bc I have to check a toy, time is up, and sometimes just because I need to talk to him and he does not listen while having something in his hands. but he knows. he will get it back. without discussion. within rules and reasons.

someone said there is red, yellow and green light. Green light is asking once, yellow is asking twice and red is no asking but taking away or sending them out of the door. I am gonna use it in the future (son is 17months so it wont work right now but im starting to indrotuce it to him) I know for someone who can't handle tantrums that its easier to just let them to keep having it but let me remind you. TANTRUMS ARE NOT AN EMERGENCY. Let them have it while you prepear anything else for them to do. After they have calmed down you explain and indrotuce the new game.

I have it set to 2 hours a day for my daughter now it’s summer holls and she’s going to high school. Once it times out it’s done for the day. ✨ It isn’t me it’s the prime minister 😉 LOL
