I know it was a million years ago, but my mother called the bank I worked for and made her way all the way up to the president to tell everyone what a b*tch I was. He called my manager and asked if I could go down to headquarters and meet with him. I was 19. I thought I was going to be fired, but instead he told me he had alcoholics in his family and we had an amazing chat. He encouraged me and told me I was doing a great job. It was life changing. Your employer was VERY wrong in this.
