Crathorne, from Northampton, was jailed in October 2022 after offering sweets and money to children outside his home to lure them inside. Families reported him to Northamptonshire Police, leading to his conviction for child sexual assault, inciting sexual activity, and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He was handed a four-and-a-half-year sentence. An official Ombudsman report confirmed Crathorne died from natural causes due to old age and heart disease while serving his sentence.
