Here’s the thing about Widow’s Bay, it’s incredibly good, but the HUMOR is what pushes it to an elite tier of prestige tv. It’s way funnier than it has a right to be.

I’m being 100% serious when I say, this is the most overhyped show I’ve ever seen. That’s not to say it’s bad at all, it’s a solid 7/10. Good fun. Not groundbreaking by any means. I was hyped for it because I watched the trailer and it seemed very fresh, but it doesn’t capitalize on the horror or the comedy for me. Just some of both that turns into a fine show. The lore isn’t that interesting and can easily be picked apart. The monster of the week “homages” don’t do it for me, they’re just shamelessly ripping off better material. Again, it’s a fine show but not worth nearly the amount of praise it’s received. Episode 4 was really solid tho

Definitely agree, the second half is definitely more of a drag but still a great show overall. Final 20 minutes of the finale was definitely underwhelming, feel like this could have been a great one season show like Mike Flanagan’s works rather than planned for multiple seasons.

1000% agreed. I enjoyed it casually, a few scary moments early on then trailed off. And I found the humor and style ruined most of the suspense and horror elements. When I saw the amount of praise and awards I was shocked
