It really depends on what you want to do. The only thing I'll say is that if you are going to an extremely expensive school, you should probably have a good idea of how that will transfer over to a career. A lot of people think college guarantees them a better life but then they graduate and realize they didn't learn anything valuable.

Degrees matter. Just make sure you pay attention to the type of degree you're going after. Because at the end of the day , it's not what you know , it's who you know , and don't you ever forget that.

degrees dont matter. specific degrees DO matter. the elite aren't sending their kids to top universities to be English majors.

It wholly depends upon the degree.
Gender Studies & Liberal Arts will not result in a marketable skill set.
A STEM degree will.

The wealthy send their kids to Ivy League schools primarily for the network which is why so many underqualified people end up in high positions, simply because they have the right connections. ( this entire administration) For working class people, degrees actually matter, because we’re often the ones working hard to make our less-competent, well-connected bosses look good

If degrees didn’t matter, the USA wouldn’t have changed the education system.

Someone told me earlier that I was wasting my time going to grad school. I don’t see a reason to limit myself or just settle for just an undergraduate. My education is an investment. It’s always been on my to do list. I became a mom at 20 and I’m a first generation grad. I was expected to be a statistic, and ended up being the first to achieve all that I have so far. I don’t plan to tell anyone about me enrolling for Grad school because they’re so negative.

Im gonna be honest for rich family a degree is mostly an accessory. I knew a girl who went to Princeton. She is very smart, first gen U.S born and college. She told me their classmates who r dumb as rocks that attend many of these top colleges. They only got in bc of the influence they had and most like never gonna used their degree. I am not shaming on college. I just think u just have to be smart about it. I am strong believer college isnt for everyone. I have friends who r happy in the trades. I am planning on getting certificate so I can gey decent job. Once I save up Im gonna go for my bachelor. I cant afford a 4 year and I dont want to stress myself out of loans. It may take me longer to earn my bachelors but hey

Most millionaires and billionaires finished college, with roughly 76% to 88% holding a university degree. While famous college dropouts get a lot of media attention, data shows that higher education remains the norm for the wealthy. Publications like Money and Business Insider track these educational trends.

100% degrees matter, even if you’re going into the Arts having a bachelors will still be better than not having one. But the one thing I’ll say is getting 200k in student loan debt for an Art degree is where the issue is. And I’ll stand by the experience is important but generation debt you gain to “possibly network and internship” that 80% of the people never do I where people fail.

Degrees matter!!!!!! I was stuck at $45k a year until I finished my bachelors! First year after I made $60k, second year I made $75k, and now I make $105k while I work on my masters! I’m also going to have an easier time finding a job if I get laid off!

It’s not about the degree, it’s about the people at that school. Elites aren’t sending their kids to top schools for the piece of paper but instead for the filtered networks that are there.
