@drmustafaadel10: The Moro reflex (also called the startle reflex) is a normal primitive reflex seen in newborns that indicates normal neurological function. How it looks When a baby is startled by a sudden noise, movement, or the sensation of falling: 1. The arms suddenly extend and abduct, with the hands opening. 2. The baby may cry. 3. The arms then come back toward the chest in a hugging motion. Normal age * Present at birth in healthy full-term infants. * Begins to diminish around 3–4 months. * Disappears by about 6 months of age. Clinical significance * Absent bilaterally: may suggest central nervous system injury or severe neurological impairment. * Absent on one side: may indicate a clavicle fracture or brachial plexus injury (e.g., Erb palsy). * Persistent beyond 6 months: may be associated with neurological or developmental disorders and warrants further evaluation. #اطفال #دكتور_مصطفى #newbornbaby
