What Paul is saying in Galatians 5:1–4 is that Christianity works backward from that. Christians believe Jesus already paid the full price for human sin, so salvation is a 100% free gift—not something earned by keeping religious rules or rituals. Paul’s warning here is simple: if you try to earn God’s favor through religious rituals (like circumcision or strict law-keeping), you reject the gift entirely. In short: In Islam, righteousness leads to acceptance by God; in Christian teaching, acceptance by God is given first, which then leads to a righteous life.
