Yep. Gr00med twice by the age of 17. And I was in an abus!ve relationship for nearly 2 years. I'm 21. People are shocked until I tell them about my family. You become so desensitised to that kind of treatment that you think what's happening to you is okay. That you're overreacting. That you're just being sensitive. That you're overthinking it. It took people reading out the definition of r@pe and SA to me to truly understand what that man did to me. I didn't leave. He left me. I'd probably still be with him with the grip he had on my mind. When it finally clicked it broke me.

Made it out... At the time I didn't even know what grooming meant. Grew up in a CYCC (almost like orphanage but I have parents, they just couldn't care for me or atleast they didn't want to)
Started searching for love in boys who only wanted one thing, they never got it.
Anyway a guy messaged me on tiktok 3 years ago and he groomed me, my friends spoke out about it and they took my phone for investigation but my housemother dropped the case without me knowing

Yep, it why I'm raising my children the way I am. I very rarely get personal online but I promised myself that I would never make my own children feel like thier only reason for existence was to care for me someday. I'll find another way before that ever becomes thier problem.

This hits home . My own uncle groomed me and his daughter he got caught 40 years later is now in jail since he had all kinds of child stuff on his computers. They called me to testify, and I said nope and hung up the phone and deleted that part of my life.

Very true. I was groomed, married at 15 and struggled up into my late 20’s. It took me several years in therapy and going to college for psych to get where I am now…and I’m still healing. I’m so very proud of you Ally. You have helped so many in ways you may never know. For that, I thank you.

Anyone can be groomed. You need to see the signs. Grooming is always the same playbook.

Didn’t help being autistic raised by my grandmother who thought I was just messed up from mom leaving me in an apartment with men for drugs. Love the 80’s. What a time to be raised
