My grandmother kept two of her report cards, one from 1963 and the other from 1959! My mother has them now, since grandma passed, but it was so cool to see!
We also came across childhood life insurance policy from the 40-50s that my great grandparents took out for grandma

are there any modern recreations of these report cards? I can imagine how wonderfully it would be for self-learning students like me, as a way of keeping simple score

i love your videos on pre-70s world. i love that you don't just show the aesthetics but also functional parts of life which maybe back then people would find mundane stuff. as for me as a zoomer in elementary school, when grading started we'd just get a little book from a store that had space for teachers to sign themselves and put our grades (and every now and then during parents' meetings with teachers our mom/dad would get a card with all our grades printed on it), and in middle school and onward our parents would view our grades on an electronic website or app called librus

I was in elementary school and middle school in the 70's. My report card looked like these, but we didn't keep our report cards, the teachers kept them, filled them out, and gave them to us at the end of the grading period to show our parents and get signed.

1950's? Hell mine from 2001 looks like that, probably because it was a small Catholic school taught by Sisters.

Only my elementary school report cards were hand written. Once I started jr high in 76, our report cards were computerized.

I was born in 1982 and my report cards in elementary school didn't look very different. I don't think they graded our teeth, though
