My problem with it is that even though both sides are consensual, disgust for hookup culture is usually just placed on the women (usually by men who also participate in hookup culture, but women do judge too obviously)

Ppl are not concerned enough about STD’s and STI’s. Any gender not directed at one specifically. They have no clue what they could contract. They are many cases of ppl lying about not having STD’s, and nowadays ppl photoshop medical records to show negative test results. Yes those are technically crimes but how often do you see anyone get charged and convicted? How often are they even reported to the police? Yeah not often. Putting your health in some randos hands is stupid, I stand on that 10 toes down.

i tried to hook up with this guy almost 2 years ago and when we were about to move to the bed i felt a ginormous amount of disgust for both of us. it was a pure luck he was a decent guy and took me home right away. i then realised that what i was craving for was actually some human interaction and emotional connection since i was only 21yo in my second year of living alone abroad. haven’t tried it since and dating somebody requires too much of an energy and time that i don’t have rn. i’m a homebody too, so i’m basically just becoming a caveman atp 😭
