I would. I hate snakes but love their purpose in this world. Snakes that float evacuate are trying to get away from you as fast as possible

They will swim right past you and will not bite you unless you mess with them. They are also non-poisonous.😂

That looks like a black rat snake. I see them all the time in the Gunks. Non venomous.
